  1. Today
  2. Thanks for the reply. This was my first time, so I tried to follow the instructions exactly. I'm realizing that I put the primer in the brew with the original ingredients. I didn't realize that went in last, because the video said "put everything in the brew kit in, except the hops" I'm guessing that's my problem. I've re attached the 2nd keg and now I get beer with a tiny amount of bubbles.
  3. Hi Nic Hi Nic, welcome to the forum. A few questions What brew did you make? Did you cool down the kegs first when you started pouring? Are you certain you put a primer in the first keg? (I know it sounds stupid but it does happen) Have you put a keg spear in the second keg? I have found with kegs in the Flo that if it was pouring rich foam, it hasn't reached a cool enough temp. If it has though, I would switch the unit off and pour some pints that way, which would allow the foam to calm down with each pint . General rule of thumb with Brewflow though is to either cool the keg down in the fridge first or leave the keg in an operating flo for at least 12 hours, this cools it down and the keg isn't being moved which may shake it up a bit.
  4. Finished my first batch, 14 days in the kegs. So excited...Put the 1st keg in the BrewFlow, pours just beer, no bubbles. Check the lines, everything looks right. Still no bubbles. Decide to try the 2nd keg. I disconnect the 1st, A ton of air starts coming out. So the carbonation is going in...Put in the 2nd keg in. Pull the lever, all bubbles, no beer. HELP! It's almost 1am, so I'm giving up and letting it sit overnight. Maybe that's the trick?
  5. I dont think so , the can is still in the mail , but it just said to add sugar , might be able to do a good quality apple juice again ๐Ÿ™‚
  6. Talking to Liam from Brewart he said best way was to play with fermentation temps.. so moved the temp from 17 - 22 degrees . Next time I will try changing the propogation temp , as i still added yeast at tap temp water ( 30ish degrees) next time i will add at propogation temp ๐Ÿ™‚ . This lion city i currently have in has behaved heaps differently to last time with that change
  7. Will update tonight . I have a bottle of the original Weissbier i did and a higher fermented Weissbier in the fridge to do a side by side. The original is a few weeks older though so maybe not true representation.
  8. More wanted to push the banana sweetness to go a good Hefe . Always like the banana/clove/wheaty flavors of a good weissbier ๐Ÿ˜„
  9. Just finished 10l of Stone and Wood Pacific Ale and tried simcoe rather than the galaxy for dry hopping. Donโ€™t get me wrong galaxy is a top hop however a lot of the recipes call for it so Iโ€™m trying other hops that are comparable. The simcoe was a pleasant suprise and will certainly use it again. Quite strong in fruit/berry flavour. 20g of pellets suited fine.
  10. Will be interested in your opinion as Iโ€™m not sure about โ€œextraโ€ esters.
  11. Droids love sugar, just ask the overflow. I enjoy a nice draught cider every now and again. Do you need apple juice for the kit?
  12. Agree no to US Chiller but the Czech, Bohemian, Belgian and Deutsch lager are all top drops.
  13. Nice one Mark , always a good drop . Have done it a few times. I going to have some of the last batch i did where i put the fermentation temp to 22 to bring out the esters and make it more like a Hefe . Will let you know tonight since they are 5 or 6 weeks aged now ๐Ÿ™‚
  14. Not coopers cans but i have bought a Ginger beer and a Cider can kit. Will see how these go . Also hoping they dont ruin the droid with the sugars ๐Ÿ˜‚
  15. I will have to shop for a few new lagers.... but i will not be lowering myself to the US Chiller haha . Was no part of the Well beers i enjoyed when I was in America. And i was unfortunate when I was there was just before their craft revolution , most places i could get Sierra Nevada , but if i ever got stuck with a millers or a Bud Light ๐Ÿ˜ณ .i am keen on the Czech pils , i know thats basically Budweiser but the Budvar was always more enjoyable then the knockoff ๐Ÿ˜‚
  16. Yesterday
  17. German Weissbier in the droid today. Second time but forgot to comment on the first, however brew log tells me I rated it highly. Look forward to it again.
  18. 3rd longneck in and a very, very solid beer, bloody happy with that as a first go at my own brew
  19. Hello Paul, I hope Pico does come back. Pico makes the wort and the BeerDriod does the fermenting and dry hopping. Might be a nice combo. That said I am really interested to see how good the dehydrated packets are. I read a lot and it seems they have improved immensely to a point that some breweries do not use grain any more. ~Alan
  20. OK, having my first real sesh with this beer, now sitting at 10 weeks. I really like it but I am already seeing opportunities with it, maybe 20 grams of hops instead of 25, maybe 3/4 Saaz to 1/4 Hersbrucker, one time all Hersbrucker, the next all Saaz, maybe a hop tea at the beginning and some dry hops at the end...possibilities. I hope I'm still alive by time I perfect this one, I'd hate to see the boy take all the accolades :). In saying this though, it has a lot of flavour for a pilsner at 10 weeks, which makes me pleased, I have found a few of the brewprints dull around this time but this packs a real punch still. We can put this in my top 10 for sure, a very good beer but I am going to have to experiment to see if I can get it just that bit better?
  21. 5% alcomohol volume. I had 3 longnecks of that last night and I woke up at 4am a touch under the weather. To put it in perspective, I made myself 3 bacon and scrambled egg muffins for breakfast and still felt the need for 2 pies and a saus roll for lunch...and then I felt...better
  22. Sorry a bit lost (not unusual with a few beers) where are you referring to 5%?
  23. Just saying, no way is that 5%, that would appear to be quite the high alcohol beer
  24. Oh Paul, like you I wasnโ€™t a great lager drinker until this, you have to try some of the others. If you donโ€™t do youโ€™ll never know.
  25. I cant see the Tiger notes from last time but i am sure i didnt see this happen last time. Might be wrong and cool that its another feature of the droid i didnt know about ( P.S. the Lion city is the only lager i brew ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚)
  26. No, normal, as it happens have a Lion in the fermenter now, start as a lager 12C, then it ramped up to 15C, now at day 7 it ramped up to 17C. All normal all good.
