  1. Hi everyone I've been a long time user of the BrewArt system. I’m an Aussie based in the US. I think I may have been first in the US to own this (before it was available in retail) - have owned my system for maybe 4+ years. About the only way I can get Aussie style beer here. Results for me have generally been pretty good. Had a failure a couple of years ago - but I’ve upped my sanitizing game since then. Sometimes I’ve had mechanical issues (burst liners etc). But generally been pretty happy. Anyway - I’m writing this because I just used a brand new kegging pack (replaced an old one in the rotation as the seals were getting a little used). When I first started using the system, there were no keg spears - and I’ve got to say they were a big design improvement (prior to that there was far too much frothy head). However, in this new keg pack - the kegs are slightly shorter. The result is that’s it’s impossible to insert the spear and screw down the metal ring on the keg - as the cap won’t sit flush with the keg because the spear is too long. Note I am using the spears that came with the new kegs (so if I’m meant to use a shorter spear it wasn’t the one in the pack). This seems a deliberate design change. Note - also the kegs now have their own feet - which obviates the need for separate plastic stands (big tuck there - although without check I hope they still fit in my beer flow). Anyway, I’ve completed my kegging without the spears and I’m going to let it settle for a few weeks, and hope that it all works and there’s no repeat of the over frothy beer. But I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and whether the new keg design works without the spear.
  2. Hey All , Has anyone had any luck using an Ikegger keg or similar ? If so , do you use it for whole second fermentation with primer, add the hops minus the primer and force carbonate or use the brewart keg for second fermentation and transfer if you fancy taking a keg somewhere else or put into a Kegorator ?
  3. Hi Guys, I’ve just started my first brew few days ago and I got the notification that it is has concluded the fermentation yesterday and it went directly to storage mode. However, I am unable to move the brew to kegging mode from the App nor the Droid. I went through the manuals and videos as well as the FAQs I couldn’t find anything I am doing wrong can anyone tell me what can I do next ? I know nothing is going to happen if the beer stays in storage mode for quite sometime but I am eager to start the secondary fermentation. Thank you.
  4. Hi All, Just to let you know there is a current discount on Keg refill kits, a $20 dollar saving, use promo code KEG20, ends 13th march Enjoy Stuart
  5. As a newbie to brewing I was wondering if the community has any views on whether some beer styles are better kegged and some better bottled (in terms of beer finish, taste etc)? Does it even make a difference? In terms of kegging, I don't just mean using the brewflo system, but kegging more broadly. Cheers Rennce
  6. Couldn't think of a better place for this question, hope this area is ok. Beer clearing question: Three years ago I gave up a lot of my favorite beers because they caused me crippling gout about 3 times yearly due to all the yeast in bottle conditioned beer. Since switching to 'mostly' non bottle conditioned filtered beers I haven't suffered in three years now! So i wonder, should I add gelatin to my secondary keg while aging at about 34 degrees F, for 2-3 weeks, then run through filtering system into another keg for additional aging, forced co2 carbonation, then finally dispensing from this third keg? Sounds like a small pain to do, but better getting rid of most yeast in order to help eliminate even more pain from possible gout! I'll need to have plenty of kegs around but nothing ever seems easy here these days! Ah well, more time and expense but I'm not a quitter! I still drink maybe two or three bottle conditioned beers (really murky) each month, mainly Adventinus wheat dopplebock, I do think these apple cider vinegar tablets i take each day help keep the gout away from me. Cheers!
  7. Which beer(s) has poured best for you from the Brewflo and did you use a caddy when kegging? If you read everything on this forum, you will know I am struggling to get satisfactory results from my Brewflo. So I am in search of the most forgiving/successful/reliable Brewprint and the method of filling that was used. In about a month I will pick up on the best option and hopefully be on my way to enjoying a pleasing result.

  11. Just thought it would be good to see how many kegs everyone has and how many kegs you think is enough. I currently have 8 kegs which I don't think is enough so would want to get another 4 kegs to have a total of 12 kegs which I think would be the ideal amount.
