Brew art Server down?

Recommended Posts

I'm currently in a brew that is clearing hops. I could have expected it to have moved to kegging my now.

The wifi is connected but the globe sign is flashing.

Is anyone else having similar problems.

Is there a way to manually move the brew into kegging mode. I don't want to overdo the hops (added 01/11/24 15:48). Droid currently clearing hops at 4 degress.

Yes, definitely looks like the BrewArt BeerDroid server(s) are down. I'm seeing the same reports on Facebook.

On my Droid, the WiFi symbol is strong but the "world" symbol next to it has been flashing since yesterday. Also there is a discrepancy between the temperature being shown on the Droid, 29°C versus the App, 30.3°C. The App has displayed this temperature without any change since yesterday as well.

In terms of moving the brew into Kegging mode or zone, I don't believe that you can do that.

The work around would be to manually "Cancel & Leave a Program" by pressing on the X button on the Droid Control Panel and then start a new fermentation Custom profile where all Zones are set to your desired Kegging temperature. Once it reaches Kegging temp, go thru your normal routine to keg.

However, if I was in your shoes, I would give it another 24 hours or so to see if BrewArt can resolve the issues with their servers and get the App syncing with the Droid. I would think that another 24 hours at 4°C wouldn't really affect the hop character of the beer.

G 'Day Guys,

We’re currently experiencing a server outage that’s affecting the BrewArt App, causing it to temporarily display outdated brewing information and not connect to your BeerDroid. Please rest assured that your brew-in-progress is safe and won’t be impacted by this issue.

Our team is working hard to resolve this, and we’ll update you as soon as the app is back up and running smoothly. Thanks for your patience,

Cheers

Regarding your brew: Your BeerDroid will move the Brewing Program to 'Clearing Hops' (4°C) and sit there for 48 hours, then it will automatically move into 'Keg Mode' (18°C) once complete. You can just push the 'Tick' on the LCD screen to Complete the brew once it's warmed up to 18°C.

Thanks for your patience while we sorted this out. Our servers are back up and running, so everything should appear up to date in your Apps.

Not quite.  My droid is ready to keg, but I need to place it in storage mode for a few days.  The App fails to accomplish this.  I have tried numerous times to move from Kegging to Storage mode.  The App spins for about half a minute but does not change the droid's mode.

Any suggestions?

I have checked your BeerDroid and can see that it is making contact with our servers. Can you please try resetting your App and see if that helps?
Cheers

That worked.  I re-started both my iPhone and iPad to get each of them responding to the BrewArt app.  Apparently, my droid had automatically gone to storage mode because of inactivity.  Now, all is well, and the apps properly display the droid condition.

Thanks for the advice.

Tried to start a sparkling ale from the app. Hangs at starting brew. Tried resetting everything twice. Tried other prints but couldn't start from app. Now have started manually using the ale program and can track progress in app.

G 'Day @Brady Gentle. Thanks for letting us know, it is very odd! I have checked your BeerDroid and it is definitely connected to the server (which is why you're able to track it via the App) Can you change the temperature of your brew via the App? If you're still struggling to use the App to start a brew on your next brew please contact us at tech@brewart.com and we'll troubleshoot with you. Cheers

I've had this same problem on a few occasions. When this happens, as it hangs at "starting brew", it shows all the temperatures that is required for that brew. So when it sits idol like that I take a screenshot of the temperatures. Then I start a custom brew through the droid (not my phone) and set all the correct temperatures for that brew.

Hi, I hope you don't mind me chiming in on this conversation as well. Unfortunately, I'm having similar issues in kicking off a brew today. I've tried turning my BeerDroid off and on a number of times, as well as logging off my account on the app, restarting my iphone, and logging back into the app. I still wasn't able to start the brew from the shelf. I continue to get a server error.

I've given up and now kicked it off as a custom ale brew from the console with the temperature details for the Kings Dutch amber, which is what I'm brewing. This is a shame though as the app won't realise I've kicked of the brew for this print.

The interesting thing is that the app can see the BeerDroid is now brewing and showing me the correct status, so I assume both the BeerDroid and the app are successfully connected to the server.

Hopefully this helps and the issue can be resolved soon.

Thank you.

Thanks everyone! We have just run some tests from our end and are also experiencing the same issues.
It seems there's a bit of a hang over from the server outage. We've spoken to our developers to get them to rectify the issue.
From what we've found the BeerDroid can speak to the servers (i.e. you can start and finish brews from your BeerDroid LCD Screen and the BeerDroid will display properly in the App) but the App can't speak back to the Servers (i.e. you can't start a brew or change temps from the App) We working to get this resolved ASAP. In the meantime if you're in a pinch you can start the brew from the App.

Cheers

I use an iphone

But as I was doing a Bohemian for the billionth time and I just could not be arsed walking back to my phone I just pushed the start button on the droid. I know this doesn't help but I thought people needed to know just how lazy I can be at times
