Eltham Brauhaus
I will be bottling the Lawn Mower this weekend and I am wondering what the minimum secondary fermentation period would be that would still make this brew outstanding as everyone on this post have commentated. Please don't say 8 weeks.

However might I suggest as you are bottling, sample one at 2 weeks, then 3 then 4.

Maybe I will target 6 weeks time (April Fools Day) as a compromise. Its in my diary. It should even better for Anzac Day. Its in my diary Just kidding mate, had one of these at 3 weeks, was nice, the Galaxy does really shine through at the 8 week mark though. In saying that, the Galaxy hops in a lager is a different combination. The first time I brewed it, I was really "meh" even at the thought of drinking it, thought it'd be crap but I had a bottle of it at 4-5 weeks and I was pretty happy, different but very nice.

OK, I have altered my diary entry to mid April and leave a few for Anzac Day. I have 80 lt of various brews in storage so I am not going to die of thirst in the mean time. Does that sound like a plan?

It's a start for sure Depending on how much you drink, it's a reasonable amount of stock to keep you going, or in @Captain 3 Droids words "a Sunday". It is good though when you look at 80-100 litres of beer maturing and think "that's mine" 1

Have to have my “Sunday”🍻 1

I am multi skilled and drink Bourbon, wine and beer so I would have 6 months supply of beer in the closet & garage. I am trying to ween myself of the spirits & wine as beer has less calories by volume. I am on a health kick. Does that sound like a reasonable & good excuse to drink beer? The color starred straw like and then towards the end of what I thought was a really long ferment it turned really really dark (started to worry). But alas dry hop reminder came on yesterday. I added the hops and the colour is back to a nice cloudy straw colour. Now two days later it’s cold crashing 🙂. Hopeful to get a lawnmower with a bit of an extra kick in a couple weeks. 🙂. It’s is. SPECTACULAR!!!!!!

Now we just need somewhere to put him. Atop Mount Lofty perhaps? 1
