Hippity Hop
Has anyone brewed the Shadow Hill Porter using Y4 yeast instead of Y2? I didn't have any Y2 so I popped in Y4. If so, how did it go? cheers
Steve Gyldenvand
No experience there, but I'm absolutely looking forward to hearing how it works out!
Steve Gyldenvand
So I got wondering about this some more, and I went and checked some other brewprint ingredients. Turns out the Ruby Porter uses the Y4. Other ingredients are similar. The most notable difference as I see it, is the hops. I have some of the Ruby Porter cellared at this time, and it's a fine example of type. I suspect you'll have a very drinkable brew after it's aged a bit.
