Growlers

Recommended Posts

I have bottled in growlers and howlers without any short-term problems, Frank. If you want to cellar some for longer-term maturing, the problem of lost carbonation arises from screw-on caps. You can check them and hand-tighten periodically, but I just don't think they will retain carbonation as well as crown-capped bottles. I do own a couple swing-top growlers with rubber gaskets, but I've never used them for home-brew conditioning. They live in the car and the truck, to be used when we stumble across a particularly tasty offering at one of the taprooms we somehow keep finding ourselves visiting.

Slainte!
