Keg Cap and Stainless Connectors

I have put the wrong Stainless Steel connectors in the wrong holes.

I have 10 kegs at the moment sitting in my cellar conditioning.

But I have noticed I have put the orange connector (Beer) in the A female hole and the black in the B female hole (Air).

Can these be switched over at any stage and if so what would the consequences be?

Serious question though, just on this keg or on all ten?

How long ago did you put the connectors on?

Only Two Kegs Rob.

I have had a think about this and I might do this:-

  • Have a preprepared keg caps with the right connectors in the right holes.
  • Slowly release the beer valve which should depressurise the keg.
  • drop another carbonation stick in and replace the Keg caps etc and tighten the Keg collar.
  • Leave for 4 weeks before testing.

Sounds like a plan.

Maybe do it over carpet or a rug just to impress the missus :)

NEWS FLASH:

I slowly undid the orange Beer Valve and there was a very slight pressure release,  should have changed it over to the black one at that stage.

But I thought I would undo the Keg Collar....bad move, there is a fair bit of pressure in those kegs and it erupted with beer all over the kitchen, the kitchen cupboards, cieling and of course me.

Not a great move and it has taken me the best part of two hours to clean up.

So you can change to Stainless Steel valves over, but don't undo the Keg Collar.

Sad thing is Ive lost 5 litres of West Coast IPA IPA.

I am only laughing because I have done something kinda similar with those results. I don't believe you have brewed until you've had a brew go all over the place. My occasion the kids thought it was great because the beer was going everywhere, they thought it was very exciting til they noticed how much dad was swearing
